"Under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, catechists powerfully influence those being catechized by their faithful proclamation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the transparent example of their Christian lives. For catechesis to be effective, the catechist must be fully committed to Jesus Christ. They must firmly believe in his Gospel and its power to transform lives.” National Directory for Catechesis, page 101
If you feel called, or are just curious, please contact Francesca to schedule a meeting to see if this ministry is right for you. If it is, you will be joining a group of loving, dedicated and faith-filled people as we go forward to do as Christ commanded and "make disciples of all nations …teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you" (Acts 28: 19-20).
OCIA
The Catholic Church's process for converting non-baptized adults and children 7 years and older, or those baptized in other Christian faiths, into the Catholic Church. The process involves periods of study, prayer, and community reflection culminating in the sacraments of initiation (Baptism, Confirmation, and First Holy Communion) at the Easter Vigil. It is also used for baptized Catholics who have not yet received the sacraments of Confirmation and Eucharist.
